Meccano Silver Jubilee Train Locomotive From 1947 Manual No. 8 Adapted For O Gauge
This is a Meccano Silver Jubilee Train From 1947 Manual No. 8 model number 8.10 modified to run on O Gauge track. This has been one of my more difficult O gauge projects. The Manual Model is not meant for use on a track but on the floor. Also the locomotive and tender are built as one unit and the coach also is one unit which I have split into four(including two coaches). I have modified it for O gauge using an E20R motor and a meccano pdu motor(in the passenger coach) to run on O gauge track. I have tried to use only the parts that would have been available in a No.8 set of 1947. I have used four 20a two inch pulley wheels, with one set of two combined with two inch sprocket gears to act as flanged wheels driven by the E20R motor with gears, in the locomotive. The No. 8 set has only four No.20b and another four No. 20 flanged wheels which I have used in the tender and one passenger coach. I have used a combination of one inch pulley wheels and bush wheel discs as flanged wheels for the second passenger coach.
