This is a look at prewar loaded sacks from my collection. This is a request from Geoff Brown some time ago that I finally got to! Cancer kinda got in the way.......;-((These little buggars seem to start out in a "standard" form but when they left the only set they were ever included in( #7 and #6a) from 1922-1929, the forms they took as spare parts only seemed to run amok! Shapes and sizes as well as weight run the gambit....The only ones I can be sure of as far as date is the ones from my original, barn-find #7 sets from 1923 and 1928. These examples are above reproach! After that, I have no idea of the date.......just that they exist. And, as it is almost impossible to date these after 1929, we just have to accept the fact that there are many different forms around up to 1941......in 1953, the postwar version was introduced and was with use till the mid 70's....
