This is a development of an idea by Steve Butterworth of including two staircases in series in small stand-alone ball rollers in place of one plus gravity return. I have added a relative twist to the two staircases, which then require only the addition of identical descending connecting tracks at each end to complete the circuit.

A modern Meccano motor plus 19:1 gearbox drives the roller via helical gears.
