Clock using marbles by Mike Cuff

The clock is very unusual in that the time is displayed by vertical columns of marbles which are lifted into position by a continuously moving chain made from fishplates and driven by two synchronous Crouzet motors. The first column receives one marble every five seconds, thus after 60 seconds the twelfth marble trips a mechanism which passes one marble to the next column. This feature is repeated several times, the final column displaying a maximum of twelve hours.
