This is a parts primer for the Kemex sets that Meccano put out from the years 1933 to about 1939. This series was short lived and had a lot of competition. It was not a huge seller! The Kemex sets and parts were, however, of superior quality and were quite expensive at the time. The sets initially were in sizes #1, #2 and #3 with no accessory or linking sets. The #0 set was added to the line in 1934. The option of a gas Bunsen burner instead of the spirit wick lamp in sets 2 and 3 was also introduced in mid 1934. There are not a huge number of parts and given the short time they existed, the parts were pretty consistent over the years BUT there are some anomalies....as usual! A lot of these items were probably brought in and/or custom made for Meccano Ltd. by laboratory and chemical supply houses at the time.
