This is modified Meccano model of an Electric Locomotive 5.12 from a 1945 No. 5 set, so that it can run on O gauge track. It is powered with an E20R electric motor that draws current from the track. The first few seconds of the video show the locomotive pulling a wagon, not from the No. 5 set, but something I had made earlier, the later part only the locomotive by itself. I wanted to use only the parts that would have been available in the No. 5 set and the electric motor. As the set had no flanged wheels for use on the O gauge track, I have used a combination of 3 inch pulley wheels and the 2.5 inch road wheels for this purpose, as also the one inch pulley and bush wheels discs for the front and rear wheels.
