I have made a Meccano Fairlee style locomotive for G Gauge that has two Mamod real steam engines. The wheels of the engines have not been synchronised and both engines run independently of the other. I have used modern meccano plastic gears, except in the first stage, where a crown and pinion brass gears are used. The driving wheels have been made from modern meccano 187b plastic road wheels cut and ribs filed.
