Indexing Mechanism for Ferris Wheel

The indexing mechanism, designed by John Nuttall snd featured in Constructor Quarterly June 2014, is used to stop and start an eight flyboat ferris wheel, then allow the wheel to revolve five times without interruption
My model does not yet have a ferris wheel, but, for demonstration purposes, the face plate fitted with eight plastic spacers gives a visual interpretation of the control provided by the indexing mechanism.
In my mind, this mechanism is a feat of Meccano ingenuity.
