I have always liked the blue and gold colour scheme because my first real Meccano was a 5, 5a, 6a bought second hand for Christmas in the nineteen fifties. In 2013 I decided to build up a collection of new looking blue cross hatched plates and respray constructional parts to try and match the original gold. I must say I am pleased with the result not a perfect match but convincing I think.
