Jack Partridge Arnfield Mantle Clock - Shown by Tim Martin

This model is based on the original plan (No.104) of Michael Adler's Arnfield mantle cloth. The fundamental principles of the design are the traditional Huygens chain drive mechanism. which automatically rewinds every 15 minutes, and the modern and highly efficient Arnfield escapement mechanism.
The model was built originally by the late Jack Partridge. ex-president of the MMG. and one of the leading exponents of Meccano clock building over the last 40 years.
Since acquiring the clock, I have added several features. In addition to Jack‘s hour, minute, and second hands, the following are now also present:-
1. 24 hour dial (lower centre of clock face).
2. Day dial (centre right of clock face).
3. Date dial (centre left of clock face).
4. Month dial (top of cabinet on right).
5. Lunar phase indicator (top of cabinet on left).
6. Rewind dial (above clock face).
7. Single on-the-hour chime.
8. Extra decorative features.
9. Enclosed cabinet.
The date dial reads up to the 28th. of each month. Months with 30 or 31 days require this dial to be manually reset. The month dial reads up to 365 days, so this dial also requires to be manually reset, one day each leap year. Tim Martin.
