02-Card of cord-single layer-C1
The next inovation came in about 1911 and was obviously a presentation piece to highlight the name meccano any way it could be! This example is a single layer of very thin cord. It is on the order of 0.5-0.6 mm. It is seen in a lighter as well as a darker blue in this form. The cardboard holder is printed with the word meccano twice on one side. Note the outline highlited font! The card is about 1 mm thick and quite white. Its overall dimensions are 50 mm across x 82mm long approx. The narrow area were the cord is wound is 40mm across and 50 mm long. This presentation of the cord was short lived and didn't last past the mid teens....
