M260 1934 T6M transformer

Liverpool first started manufacturing their own transformers in late 1931. However, the most simple version, the T6M, with no speed controller or extra outputs, was not available until 1933. Early transformers, such as this one, were supplied with a plug which which fitted into a light socket! You could order versions with various windings from the factory but this is a fairly standard one for 225/250V at 50/60Hz. Despite being for nominal 6v motors the output of this transformer was actually 9v at up to nearly 3amps. This is one of a series of transformers in this gallery.
