US? 56 tooth gear with zinc alloy boss
A number of these have shown up in North America in batches of Meccano from circa 1915 - 1920 (dating is questionable). This is the highest resolution picture I have at the moment. An obviously genuine 27a is shown for comparison, and opposite sides of two samples of the odd gear are shown.
