JCB Backhoe by SteveB
The model was built to conform to the Xmas 2014 challenge within 10" size, although it is capable of extending outside of this range. It has working steering, 9 manually "hands-on" simulated rams for the the loader, backhoe and rear stabilising legs. Each ram contains a captive rubber collar so that it will remain in place when operated as shown in the accompanying pictures. The model is based on the JCB 3CX.

I had this model in my hand. It's very heavy. Steve has the ability to pack so much detail into such a small space, that his models are unique in my opinion. Steve's mobile crane is built in much the same fashion and can be seen here http://www.nzmeccano.com/image-76264 |
