Modified spools fitted August 2014

The original spools shown in all previous photos and videos have now (August 2014) been replaced with those shown here. Thread tensioning is included along with tracking to maintain rotational orientation of the spool holders as they circulate. It needs to be said though that, apart from looking tidier, there is absolutely no improvement in the completed braid to be achieved by tensioning - this occurs naturally every time a spool moves away from the centre of the machine to pull the slack thread tight again. This is true for all braiders of mine.

The video shown in those of all six of my braiding machines at album 1-6 is of this later machine.

Hi Beth, and thankyou for your enquiry. No, I'm afraid not. They are made to satisfy my curiosity, and to show to the public for their enjoyment at the various shows that members of the Melbourne Meccano Club attend.
Regards, Graham
PS I'm in Melbourne, Australia.
