Fairly sure it's 1928

Would love to hear from someone more knowledgable as to the provenance of this. I now believe it's around 1928 (thanks to Kendrick), certainly from Elizabeth, N.J. An Inventory is on the 'to-do' list.

Fairly sure it

Kendrick, Point taken. It sounds like this most likely is a 1928 Outfit and did you say 6x was available in 1928 then?

As for the sources for my contents lists, they are from the manuals. However, the 1929 manuals did not have contents lists, so the only clue is that the models are the same as the 1928 manuals, so presumably the contents are the same or very similar.

Kevin: If it is a 1929 outfit, it would be a number 70, not 6x. Contents would apparently be at least similar, if not the same. NoirProfond2 has some pictures of a No. 60 outfit in his gallery; it is in a green painted wood box.

I have now added more photos of this Outfit, I’m becoming convinced it is either a 1928 or 1929 6X, have a look at the worn label and decide for yourself.

Kendrick, I notice that you state the inclusion of 'Nickel' Angle girders in your one No 6 Outfit. This may be similar to the ones I have in mine. I did look at your 2 No 6 Outfits and the boxes are as mine is, I am becoming convinced I have a No 6 not a No 5 Outfit. A parts count and pictures will be first on my list on returning home next week. I'll keep you posted thanks. Can I ask where the US parts lists have come from, I assume from the manuals of those years?

Well, I tried using the Gallery search box, and using image numbers does not work. However, you can search on kbisset, look there for the US Meccano folder.
