Small Parts Tin reused at Binns Road

Note the underneath image is not a label, but is beautifully lithographed directly onto the tin.

This was from the 1920's Nickel period , which was out of date when the new Red & Green colours were introduced.

Even stuck on at 90 degrees to the old one.

It seems such a pity to cover a high quality lithographed illustration with a lesser quality printed label - all in the cause of 'updating' the looks. But, when it comes to sales, up-to-the-minute presentation is key, and Frank Hornby certainly understood this.
