1931 MG F2 Magna sports two-seater - Peter Evans
This Meccano model represents the actual car (Registration MG 1410) which I restored and owned for over 20 years.
This fine car was fitted with a MG Magnette 130cc six cylinder engine with overhead camshaft, crossflow cylinder head and twin SU carbs.
The car was a delight to drive, with good acceleration and road holding.
The wire-controlled brakes were fine when first set-up but tended to fade quite quickly.
With speeds in excess of 80 mph and a crash gearbox, emergencies could be rather scary!
